My husband and I retured from a very short stay in Windsor in October. I liked it. I liked the neignbourhood we were staying in Belle River and i loved the people and the near-by stores. We took ourselves off to the front and i loved the way you could see Detroit across the water. We went for a drink in a local Irish pub and we ,had a nice time except we were the only ones in there. I would seriously think about living there but my husband was quite apprehensive.
We have teenage sons and he seems to think they would be slightly bored. We werent there long enough to really know this, it was quiet, it was October, we stayed there mid week and we live in a lively city in UK now.
Can anyone give me a better insight into the amenities and lifestyle of living in Windsor? Maybe you can move here and take my life as an unemployed young adult living within the vast slum of missed opportunities and squandered possibilities.
The school system is subpar for the most part, aside from the university, in which funding poses its own limitations. The only things to do are drink, gabmble, or participate in the multiple drug dealings that go on at every corner at any given time Unless of course you want to be or rent a prostitute Belle river isn't part of Windsor , its completely seperate. I cant even continue to rant about the scuzziness of Windsor, its making me feel ill.
Almost as ill as the pollution makes me every time i decide to venture out my door, into piles of vomit and used condoms from the previous weekend. As an expatriate from the UK myself, i can offer this advice. I've lived in Windsor for 10 years now and have enjoyed it immensely. The city has recently been given the title of "sin city north" by US media outlets becuase of Canada's liberal tendencies. It's true that there is plenty of "sin" in Windsor if you want it. However the truth is that the city is very blue collar, working class.
